Inspired by the nice comment left by redrosesforme regarding the Beyond The Valley Of The Polar Bears post here, I thought it would be good to share the rest of the songs on the tape. As I said in my piece regarding the tape, this really is a fantastic compilation. It has to be remembered that in the days when the tape was released, it took a lot of time and effort to contact all of the bands involved, get all of the master tapes together, create the artwork, print covers, advertise the release, post out the tapes etc. It is a world away from putting together a compilation of songs, wrapping them in a zip file, uploading them to wherever and congratulating yourself on your exquisite taste. Kids don't know they're born these days. Thank you to Red Roses For Me for the wonderful tapes and fanzines. Also massive respect is due for including the amazing Cat's Miaow on the compilation. Again this was long before they became the cool band to name-drop into any indiepop conversation. A pre-Top Of The Pops White Town are also featured.
The Goldenrods - Told You So / Prince Of Edinburgh / Hey Jay
The Proctors - Only Stupid / Moon Song
The Cat's Miaow - You Left A Note On The Table / It Might Never Happen
Half Time Oranges - Give It To Shilton / We Only Sing When We're Winning
Oporto - Seize Today / Midnight Blue
White Town - Give Me Some Pain / Undressed

Hi! I really enjoyed your blog and also noticed you posted 'Nothing Yet' by The Weeping Messerschmitts. Brilliant! I hope it's okay but I have also posted the song as it ties in with one of my earlier pieces about the band. It is so good to hear the song again. :)
